After nearly 12 years with Missouri One Call and Missouri 811, Damage Prevention Specialist Bill Murray will retire on July 31, 2026.
Throughout his career with Missouri 811, Bill has been a trusted resource for excavators, utility operators, municipalities, contractors, and homeowners across the state. Drawing on decades of experience in the natural gas industry with Laclede Gas and Spire, he brought a wealth of practical knowledge and real-world experience to every conversation, training session, and job site.
As a member of Missouri 811's Damage Prevention Team, Bill helped educate thousands of stakeholders on Missouri's Safe Digging Law, marking standards, excavation safety, ticket management, damage investigations, and damage prevention best practices. His genuine personality, patience, and attention to detail made him an outstanding educator and a valued ambassador for Missouri 811.
Bill's commitment to education, professionalism, and public safety has left a lasting mark on Missouri 811 and the damage prevention community. His knowledge, willingness to help others, and passion for protecting people and underground infrastructure will be remembered by the many individuals whose lives and careers he touched.
